Indiana Conference Music Festival


The Indiana Conference Music Festival is a yearly event offering students from all over Indiana the opportunity to participate in a three day band and choral festival culminating in a performance during the Indiana Conference Sabbath Celebration event. The festival is conducted by talented directors from all over the country. Groups and individuals, spanning grades 6-12, are welcome from SDA, public, or home schools. Come join us as we praise God and enjoy developing the gifts He has given us!

How to Register

As you register please keep in mind, we welcome your feedback. Let us know if there's some way we can improve your experience. Please follow these steps in registering your group.

1. Use the links below to access the registration forms.

2. Complete both the Sponsor and Student forms. 

3. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to edit your submission if need be. IMPORTANT! Lodging space is limited so those who register first get first priority.

5. Registration Deadline is February 26, 2017

6. A non-refundable deposit of $5 per individual is due by March 13. You will receive an invoice to the primary sponsor email address after the registration deadline (Feb 26). Your deposit will be deducted from the total amount due for your group.

Please print and have each student sign the participation agreement to bring with you to the festival.

Meal Tickets

Your nametag is your meal ticket.  The number of meals shown is based on your registration form (whether you are lodging or commuting). Each meal will be marked off the ticket at each meal.

Present your tickets at each meal.

Tickets are no longer valid after MusicFest is over.


When you arrive, please park in the large parking lot outside the gymnasium (this is the parking lot that opens directly onto highway 19). Registration will begin in the gym lobby at 9:00 AM for lodging groups and at 10:00 AM for those groups that are commuting.


Important Items to Pack

  • Sack lunches for Thursday
  • Pencil and water bottle for rehearsals
  • Bedding/sleeping bag, pillow
  • Items essential for personal hygiene
  • Concert dress (White shirt and black pants or skirts. Long skirts are preferred so if you have a short skirt and slacks, please choose the slacks.)
  • Registration fees
  • Signed Participation Agreements
  • Any printed copies of the music not yet recycled (you will be provided originals at the onsite registration)f

Nonessential electronics: we discourage students from bringing any listening devices or other electronic devices unless absolutely essential. Indiana Conference and Academy cannot guarantee the safety of property brought to Music Festival.

Our 2017 Clinicians

Choral Clinician: Monica Kissinger


Monica Pavel Kissinger is a musician committed to worship God through her skills and talent. She is pursuing her Doctorate of Arts degree in Choral Conducting at Ball State University, where she is the conductor of University Choral Union.


Monica has received her bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at DePaul University, Chicago, and her masters in both Choral Conducting and Piano Performance at Andrews University, Berrien Springs MI. During her years at Andrews, she held assistantships for the Choral Department and Piano Department. She prepared music majors for their piano proficiency exam, and also taught non-music majors. She conducted the University Singers, the Chamber Singers, and both Women and Men’s Choirs.


Before her studies at Ball State, Monica conducted choirs for Adventist academies in Washington State, and Indiana. She had the opportunity to sing with Arnold Schoenberg Choir and Wienerchor, under the direction of Erwin Ortner and Michael Grohotolsky, while she lived in Vienna, 2007-2008. She was an active keyboardist with Advent Chamber Orchestra led by her sister, during the period of 2004-2011. This year is her fifth year as the Director of Choirs at Hazelwood Christian Church, Muncie IN.


Band Clinician: Alan Mitchell

Alan Mitchell is an Assistant Professor of Music at Andrews University. His teaching responsibilities include the Wind Symphony and music education courses for the B.M. and M.M. in Music Education degrees. His performance organizations have performed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Mr. Mitchell has also served as clinician, guest conductor and adjudicator throughout the United States. Prior to coming to Andrews University, he taught at Auburn Adventist Academy, Washington; Platte Valley Academy, Nebraska; John North High School, California; and in the Fountain Valley Elementary School District, California.

Mr. Mitchell holds both a B.A. degree and M.A. degrees in Music from California State University at Long Beach. He is currently a candidate for a D.M.A. degree in Wind Conducting/Music Education at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. His major conducting professors were Eugene Corporon and Dr. Mallory Thompson. He has received additional conducting studies from Michael Haithcock, Ron Johnson, John Whitwell, and Allan McMurray. He has professional membership with the Music Educators National Conference, College Band Directors National Association, the World Association of Bands and Ensembles, and honorary membership with Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association.
